This clip from a live action film “Return of Oz: The Gnome Kind” integrates claymation within external objects to imitate a life-like depiction of a talking rock wall.

The claymation demonstrates unique transitions to form expressions and character. I learn that the order of transitioning elements (ex. moving the mouth first, then nose, along with the eyes) adds to the expression and overall character. This clip also demonstrates using clay on a relatively flatter surface than a complete 3D field.
