Helpful tutorial on particular tips for stop-motion animators. The instructor uses an SLR and summarizes the most significant aspect of shooting stop-motion: shutter speed.

Since I am not very familiar with SLR or DSLR filming, it was important to keep in mind this feature as it greatly effects lighting. When working with the SLR camera during our silhouette animation last term, we were puzzled as to why lighting and quality were inconsistent frame after frame. This lead us to experiment with most, if not all, of the features on the camera to attain consistency.

Another reason why motion studies are an essential aspect of animation (or any kind of filming) to help in the production process.
